Slow Cooker Beef & Mushroom Stroganoff

Slow Cooker Beef & Mushroom Stroganoff | Dreaming All Day

I just got the call from the in-laws, the Christmas plans are in motion and I am starting to think about what to bring over on Christmas day! This also means I need to get all my baked goods sent out by this weekend and Christmas gifts sent no later than next weekend! The slow cooker will have its work cut out for it this week, because I am so not making the effort to make anything that takes more than 20 minutes of my time over the next two weeks. [Read more…]

Slow Cooker Thai Coconut Soup

Slow Cooker Thai Coconut Chicken Soup | Dreaming All Day

This week I have 4 crock pot meals on the dinners list! I don’t know about you, but even with the two of us, I make a meal plan every single week and stick it on dropbox so my husband has access to it. We’re the kind of couple that keeps digital copies of everything! I love planning out our meals each week because it helps to keep me organized since I do all the shopping and most of the cooking/baking. We are also lucky enough to have a grocery store out here in Las Vegas that delivers, so I know exactly what I need each week and I do not have the chance to really impulse buy, they even let me use all my coupons online. I love it! [Read more…]

German Chocolate Chunk Cookies

German Chocolate Chunk Cookies | Dreaming All Day

It’s time to start putting together my cookie tins, so I can send out all these baked goods in time for Christmas. My husband went with me this past weekend to Home Goods to find cookie tins and a million other impulse buys, I can get so lost in that store! Anyway, the shelves are always a little overcrowded on the end caps with clearance items..and the inevitable happened. I turned the corner when I heard a loud crash and glass break…my husband says something I won’t repeat here..but you get the idea. A whole glass bottle of vanilla extract, everywhere! I couldn’t help but laugh, and even though a clerk was standing right there to see the whole thing, I yelled “run!” I was just kidding though, I was totally willing to pay for it even though they didn’t ask. And if there was ever a time for me to be able to smell what vanilla actually smells like, that would’ve been the time…but no, I still can’t smell vanilla. Am I the only one in the world who can’t smell vanilla, can someone please send me a cure?! lol [Read more…]

Three Cheese Blueberry Sage Rigatoni

Three Cheese Blueberry Sage Rigatoni | Dreaming All Day

Congratulations to our winner Tammy from the Moms Test Kitchen Sponsor Spotlight Giveaway last week, I just sent out her eGiftcard from Sur La Table today! Stay tuned for several other exciting giveaways throughout the rest of this month, we’ve got some great sponsors!

Now, I just need to preface this recipe by saying – I love trying new things and introducing my taste buds to new flavor profiles that I am not used to. That’s not to say I am ready to try everything just yet, but I’m getting there with a few exceptions – because there are some foreign delicacies that you couldn’t pay me to eat. There used to be this revolving sushi bar that I would go to just about every week when I lived in Los Angeles. One afternoon we were approached by the waiter who informed us that the chef wanted to show his gratitude for our loyal patronage…I thought, oh how nice of him!! The waiter brought us out a “delicacy”, prepared by the chef – only for us. When I looked down, I…was…horrified… [Read more…]

Slow Cooker Tuscan Soup

Slow Cooker Tuscan Soup | Dreaming All Day

So I’ll just admit, I have been pretty lazy the past few days. I am an environmental science major for those of you who aren’t aware, and I just can’t seem to get my head in the game lately! I am also an honors student, so normally I am the team lead, picking up the slack, encouraging everyone…nope, not this time around; I am so letting someone else take that role for the next 5 weeks of this course. Oh well, I am sure i’ll be back to my normal self after the holidays!  [Read more…]

Mint Brussels

Mint Brussels | Dreaming All Day

Is everyone recovered from their turkey coma by now? We had a great trip out to California to visit our aunts Connie & Bonnie with our two good friends David and Stephy for Thanksgiving. It was a very relaxing day as we didn’t set a schedule, just woke up and started cooking/baking and when it was all done, we ate…and boy did we eat a lot! What I enjoyed most was the fact that we laughed all weekend, sometimes so hard we had tears streaming down our face. Now who’s ready to start baking their Christmas cookies? [Read more…]

White Chocolate Peppermint Bark Scones

White Chocolate Peppermint Bark Scones | Dreaming All Day

For a while now, I have been wanting to make scones…actually it’s been a couple years. But I have the ultimate scones recipe that you’re going to love! I will add the plain non-holiday theme version later on, but just know that you can totally substitute chocolate chips, dried cranberries, blueberries or anything you love into this recipe instead of the peppermint bark and white chocolate chips – the important part is the scone itself tastes absolutely amazing and could even stand alone; I am pretty darn picky when it comes to my scones! These are a perfect blend of rich flavors and a moist consistency with a  light fluffy texture. Mmmmm! [Read more…]

Buffalo Chicken Baked Ziti

Buffalo Chicken Baked Ziti | Dreaming All Day

I love using leftovers to develop a new recipe! It doesn’t really bother me to eat the same thing a few days in a row, but my husband loathes the idea. The other day, I made Slow Cooker Shredded Buffalo Chicken sandwiches for dinner, but we had tons of leftovers the next day; we will usually throw the leftover buffalo chicken on some crackers or chips and snack on it here and there. The following comic pretty much depicts the following conversation between my poor deprived hubby and myself. [Read more…]

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches | Dreaming All Day

I love this recipe so much, it’s been one of our favorites and something I make at least once every few weeks. I love it because #1 I can throw it all in the slow cooker, come back in 9 hours and we’ve got deliciousness waiting to be thrown between some bakery fresh bread and devoured. If it’s too spicy, you can tone down the intensity by adding some ranch dressing. Yumm!!!
