I just got the call from the in-laws, the Christmas plans are in motion and I am starting to think about what to bring over on Christmas day! This also means I need to get all my baked goods sent out by this weekend and Christmas gifts sent no later than next weekend! The slow cooker will have its work cut out for it this week, because I am so not making the effort to make anything that takes more than 20 minutes of my time over the next two weeks. [Read more…]
This week I have 4 crock pot meals on the dinners list! I don’t know about you, but even with the two of us, I make a meal plan every single week and stick it on dropbox so my husband has access to it. We’re the kind of couple that keeps digital copies of everything! I love planning out our meals each week because it helps to keep me organized since I do all the shopping and most of the cooking/baking. We are also lucky enough to have a grocery store out here in Las Vegas that delivers, so I know exactly what I need each week and I do not have the chance to really impulse buy, they even let me use all my coupons online. I love it! [Read more…]

Now, I just need to preface this recipe by saying – I love trying new things and introducing my taste buds to new flavor profiles that I am not used to. That’s not to say I am ready to try everything just yet, but I’m getting there with a few exceptions – because there are some foreign delicacies that you couldn’t pay me to eat. There used to be this revolving sushi bar that I would go to just about every week when I lived in Los Angeles. One afternoon we were approached by the waiter who informed us that the chef wanted to show his gratitude for our loyal patronage…I thought, oh how nice of him!! The waiter brought us out a “delicacy”, prepared by the chef – only for us. When I looked down, I…was…horrified… [Read more…]
So I’ll just admit, I have been pretty lazy the past few days. I am an environmental science major for those of you who aren’t aware, and I just can’t seem to get my head in the game lately! I am also an honors student, so normally I am the team lead, picking up the slack, encouraging everyone…nope, not this time around; I am so letting someone else take that role for the next 5 weeks of this course. Oh well, I am sure i’ll be back to my normal self after the holidays! [Read more…]

I love using leftovers to develop a new recipe! It doesn’t really bother me to eat the same thing a few days in a row, but my husband loathes the idea. The other day, I made Slow Cooker Shredded Buffalo Chicken sandwiches for dinner, but we had tons of leftovers the next day; we will usually throw the leftover buffalo chicken on some crackers or chips and snack on it here and there. The following comic pretty much depicts the following conversation between my
poor deprived hubby and myself. [Read more…]
I love this recipe so much, it’s been one of our favorites and something I make at least once every few weeks. I love it because #1 I can throw it all in the slow cooker, come back in 9 hours and we’ve got deliciousness waiting to be thrown between some bakery fresh bread and devoured. If it’s too spicy, you can tone down the intensity by adding some ranch dressing. Yumm!!!
